The Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Oligonucleotides Gordon Research Conference (GRC) is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

Unlike other GRC conferences that are tightly focused on a particular subset of a broader field, the NNO conference strives to highlight the cutting-edge advances in the overall field of nucleic acids. As a result, the NNO is very popular with researchers from both academia and industry and has one of the highest percentages of attendees from industry for any Gordon conference. With the NNO’s small size, capped at 200 attendees, and relaxed and open atmosphere, the conference lends itself to the formation of new and unexpected collaborations between industry and academia and allows networking opportunities for senior scientists, postdocs and graduate students alike. The 22nd NNO conference held in 2025 will have speakers who are leaders in their specialty from across the globe, including the template-free synthesis of long nucleic acids by chemical or enzymatic means, new developments in sequencing, genome editing, mRNA editing, DNA repair, the structure and biophysics of non-canonical structures and, of course, nucleotide and oligonucleotide therapeutic strategies.

Applications for this meeting must be submitted by June 8, 2025. Please apply early, as some meetings become oversubscribed (full) before this deadline. If the meeting is oversubscribed, it will be stated here. Note: Applications for oversubscribed meetings will only be considered by the conference chair if more seats become available due to cancellations.

The conference will consist of nine sessions. The conference chair is currently developing their preliminary program, which will include the names of the invited speakers and discussion leaders for each of these sessions.
