Make a Nomination for the Bristol Myers Squibb Award in Enzyme Chemistry!

The Division is excited to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Bristol Myers Squibb Award in Enzyme Chemistry!

The Bristol Myers Squibb Award in Enzyme Chemistry aims to recognize a prominent scientist whose research accomplishments in biochemistry or chemical biology are unusually significant and far-reaching. We encourage nominations from individuals whose discoveries are, or will be, translational in nature, impacting the biotechnology industry and over the longer term, human health. There are no age or career stage criteria associated with this award. Nominations are encouraged from individuals in industry, academia, or any other career track involving independent research. The Award is administered by the Division of Biochemistry and Chemical Biology (BIOL) of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and sponsored by Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS).

The recipient of this award receives a $5000 honorarium, presents an award lecture at the Spring 2026 ACS meeting, and organizes a symposium (four speakers total) focused on the research interests of the awardee.

The nomination materials include a letter of nomination, the candidate’s CV and up to three supporting letters. For more information about nominations, visit the award page. Submissions will be accepted until May 1, 2025.

Please share this information broadly. Nominations of individuals from traditionally underrepresented groups in chemistry are especially encouraged.
