Nominations for Two Division Awards are Now Open!

DBC Undergraduate Award in Biochemistry or Chemical Biology

The Division is happy to announce that nominations are open for the DBC Undergraduate Award in Biochemistry or Chemical Biology! This award was created to celebrate undergraduate achievement in biochemistry or chemical biology. It is intended to recognize graduating seniors who displays a significant aptitude for biochemistry or chemical biology and to encourage further interest in the field. Departments of Chemistry or Biochemistry that offer ACS-approved Bachelor’s degrees programs in Biochemistry or Chemical Biology are invited to select their program’s top graduating senior student majoring in biochemistry or chemical biology for receipt of this award. Nominations will be accept via online form until March 14, 2025.

DBC Young Investigator Award

Nominations are also open for the DBC Young Investigator Award! This award is intended to recognize early career trainees that are performing mentored research in biochemistry or chemical biology and have accomplished significant innovation and achievement in research as well as contributions to the scientific community or society at large. Candidates must be enrolled as post-candidacy graduate students or hold positions as postdoctoral scientists, and be no more than two years beyond completion of the PhD. They must also be able to attend the 2025 ACS Fall Meeting (August 17-21, 2025).
